About the Air Force

Generic Air Force Image

Whoever you are and wherever you fit on the Air Force team, the Core Values -- Integrity First, Service Before Self and Excellence in All We Do -- are what you will live by and learn to cherish.

The Core Values are much more than minimum standards. They remind us what it takes to get the mission done. They inspire us to do our very best at all times. They are the common bond among all comrades in arms, and they are the glue that unifies the Force and ties us to the great warriors and public servants of the past.

Mission of the United States Air Force

The mission of the United States Air Force is to fly, fight and win … in air, space and cyberspace.

Medical Corps Officers

As an Air Force physician, you'll join an established practice that allows you to concentrate on medicine without worrying about paying for overhead expenses such as office space, equipment, payroll or supplies.

You'll enjoy the benefits of a diverse medical practice using state-of-the-art equipment and working with top-notch, highly skilled medical teams. Our group practice concept allows for optimum patient care supported by an extensive specialty referral network.

Most importantly, when you prescribe a test or medication, there's no need to question your patient's ability to pay. The Air Force is committed to supporting you in providing the best possible care to each of your patients.

The Air Force is also committed to providing you with a quality of life and stable work week that allows you to devote time to your family and friends. Being a member of our Air Force family, means taking care of your family as well.

Nurse Corps Officers

USU's graduate nursing programs are designed to prepare advanced practice nurses and PhDs for the unique challenges of military medicine.  Graduate School of Nursing (GSN) students explore the fields of nursing through a signature blend of science, research and field training.

Lessons learned on USU's campus help prepare GSN graduates to take on a diverse range of challenges and succeed in any environment. USU's mission also prepares graduates for leadership roles that help shape the future of health care within the federal health care system.
