Did you know

Did You Know: President Ronald Reagan was the keynote speaker at the 1987 Commencement exercise

The University has welcomed many guest speakers over the years. Among them, President Ronald Reagan told the graduating class of 1987, "Yours is the only medical school in America which trains physicians to be ready for duty on the bottom of the ocean or on the surface of the moon and any place in between."

Commencement Invitations, Tickets, Announcements and Activities

Each graduate of the F. Edward H├ębert School of Medicine and the Graduate School of Nursing is given ten engraved invitations and tickets to the Commencement exercises.

Entrance to Constitution Hall is usually by ticket only and will be administered by graduation committee representatives.

Students who do not need all ten tickets are asked to return any surplus to their class representative. Graduates requiring additional tickets should notify their representative.

Students are responsible for purchasing their own personalized announcements through a vendor of their choosing.

Commencement Photographs and Video

Each year, graduating medical students contract the services of a professional photographer to take pictures of each person receiving their diploma. Additionally, the photographer takes a group photo of the class during the awards ceremony at the University the week before graduation.

A DVD of the Commencement exercises can be purchased through the USU Alumni Association, Inc. Please visit or call the Alumni Bookstore at (301) 295-3686 between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
