All USU staff, faculty and students are required to have a completed background investigation appropriate for their duty position. USU personnel who need an initial investigation, periodic reinvestigation, upgrade, security clearance or are unsure of their investigation status, contact the security office at (301) 295-3033.

Completion process for a security clearance is approximately 6 months to a year, depending on individual factors.
