Description: The three year fellowship is accredited in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery by The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and The American Board of Urology. The purpose is to train military fellows who on completion of the program will serve as teaching faculty at one of the Armed Forces Obstetrics and Gynecology residencies. The faculty consists of five full-time urogynecologists at Walter Reed and Washington Hospital Center. Fellows rotate at both facilities, with additional rotations in pelvic neurophysiology, urology, colorectal surgery, pelvic pain, and advanced laparoscopy while at Walter Reed. There are regularly scheduled didactic lectures covering all major topics in Urogynecology and pelvic floor dysfunction. Each fellow will complete University Biostatics and Epidemiology courses. Research opportunities include both clinical and basic science.
 
Special interest areas: Pelvic floor dysfunction, colorectal and neurological problems, advanced endoscopic procedures and the impact of pelvic floor dysfunction on women serving in the military. Date program initiated: 2003
