Dr. Neil E. Grunberg, Ph.D. has been elected to become a member of the Academy of Medicine of Washington, D.C. This honor is particularly noteworthy because few Ph.D. scientists are elected to this Academy.
Dr. Michael Feuerstein is the recipient of the USU 2011 James Leonard Excellence in Clinical Research Award for his paper entitled, "Measures of Cognitive Function and Work in Occupationally Active Breast Cancer Survivors," (Journal of Occupational Environmental Medicine, 2010).
Dr. Marjan Holloway has been elected as the Chair of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Research Task Group on military suicide and will serve in this capacity for the term of 2011-2014.
Dr. Neil Grunberg has been elected to full membership in Sigma Xi, the international honor society of research scientists dedicated to excellence in scientific research and cooperation among scientists in all fields.
Dr. Marian Tanofsky-Kraff has been elected President of the Eating Disorders Research Society for 2012-2013.
Dr. Michael Feuerstein was recently appointed to serve on the Systems Policy & Practice: Clinical Survivorship Care Workgroup of the National Cancer Survivorship Resource Center (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, American Cancer Society, George Washington University Cancer Institute).
Dr. Marjan Holloway served as a member of the Department of Defense Task Force on the Prevention of Suicide by Members of the Armed Forces, and co-authored the influential report presented by this group.
Dr. Michael Feuerstein recently had his award-winning book for cancer survivors, The Cancer Survivor's Guide: The Essential Handbook to Life After Cancer translated and published in Chinese.
Dr. Andrew Waters won the 2010 USU Outstanding Biomedical Graduate Educator Award. This award recognizes the outstanding contributions of a member of the USU biomedical graduate faculty to the education of students in the USU SOM Graduate Programs in the Biomedical Sciences and Public Health.
Dr. Marian Tanofsky-Kraff won the 2010 USU James Leonard Award for Excellence in Clinical Research for her paper, "A pilot study of interpersonal psychotherapy for preventing excess weight gain in adolescent girls at-risk for obesity" (International Journal of Eating Disorders, 2009).
Dr. Marjan Holloway won the 2009 USU Cinda Helke Graduate Student Advocacy Award.
Dr. Michael Feuerstein recently published a new book (2009) entitled, Work and cancer survivors, Springer Publications.
