Journal / Data Clubs
Journal and Data Club Philosophy
Journal club is a forum for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to present interesting and stimulating papers in the field of bacterial pathogenesis. In addition to providing an opportunity to learn of the latest developments in this field, the journal club also provides students and postdocs another mechanism for developing their critical thinking and public speaking skills.
Data club is a forum for the INFORMAL presentation of
research progress and results by graduate students and postdoctoral
fellows. The intent is to promote an exchange of information and ideas
and to learn from one another while providing an
opportunity for everyone to improve their communications (public
speaking) skills. In order to achieve this end, participants
in Data Club are not only expected to give presentations, they are also
expected to attend the weekly meetings, to ask questions
and to offer suggestions. In this way, we will all derive maximum
benefit from the sessions.
