Current Research Interests:

General: Regulation of gene expression related to cell growth control; protein-DNA and protein-protein interactions involved in cell growth control; tumor suppressor genes — identification and analysis; anti-cancer effects of interferons.

Specific: Mechanism of tumor suppression exerted by lysyl oxidase in mammalian cells; mechanism by which ras oncogene over expression down regulates lysyl oxidase transcription; role of Ras in the mammalian cell nucleus; mechanism of action of interferon and retinoic acid in re-activation of lysyl oxidase gene expression; role of de-methylation in lysyl oxidase transcription down regulation.
