Assistant Professor
LTC Alex H. Stubner currently serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Biometrics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. His Scholarly interests lie at the interface of Complex Emergencies/Disaster Management and the application of Environmental and Occupational Health Services. Specifically, he is interested in the evaluation of the Network of actors among Federal Civilian agencies and Department of Defense agencies involved with the application of Military Forces in response to disasters and humanitarian actions. LTC Stubner has served in a variety of assignments during the course of his career, most recently he served as the Chief, Environmental Health Service, Landstuhl Regional medical Center.
Social Network Analysis
LTC Stubner's research in Complex Emergencies and Disaster Management centers on the network of actors among Federal and Civilian agencies with responsibilities to plan for, and respond to complex emergencies and disasters from the perspective of supporting and delivering public/environmental health services and interventions. The goal of his research is to elucidate the strengths and weaknesses of the relationships between the various agencies with the end objective of improving the delivery of services.
