WELCOME to the Federal Health Educators Consortium Continuing Education Calendar of Events! This calendar displays federally sponsored online and live healthcare professional educational events occurring in the metropolitan DC area. Some events offer continuing education (CE) credits such as AMA PRA Category 1 ™ CME for physicians (MD and PA), CNE for nurses (RN, NP, and LPN), SW credit for social workers (LCSW-C), ACHE for healthcare executives, and/or ACPE credit for pharmacists; please see each event for CE details. Sponsored by the Federal Health Educators Consortium, the calendar is a joint effort of CE planners working at a variety of government agencies. Contributors include the Veterans Administration, National Institutes of Health, Food and Drug Administration, Armed Forces Medical Examiners System, Joint Pathology Center, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and a broad range of Department of Defense agencies including TRICARE Management, DC-area medical treatment facilities, and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, host of the calendar site.
Consortium organizers are Kevin M. Jackson OD, MPH, C DR MSC, USN, the Deputy Commander for Education, Training, and Research at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital and Sylvia K. Scherr MS, RN, Director of CE and Conferences at the Uniformed Services University.
- To add your federal organization’s event to our shared calendar, create and send a calendar invite from your calendar (outlook, gmail, etc) to our calendar coordinator. In your invite, include your event url, contact person details, and CE credits offered (if any) noted at the beginning of the topic title.
- To search the calendar of events, you’ll need to add the calendar to your client (outlook, g-mail, etc). Go to the Google Calendar image in the lower right, and right-click. Then click “Yes, add this calendar”. You’ll then be able to open the calendar and use the search box to locate dates, topics, credits etc. of interest to you.
