Welcome to the Biomedical Informatics Department at USU
The "new" Biomedical Informatics Department (BID) at USU is currently in a state of transformation as we become the home for a new DoD Patient Safety & Quality Academic Collaborative. This center-like entity, interdisciplinary in nature, will engage in original research and education at the nexus of patient safety, quality of care, and health informatics in the Military Health System. Our department has recently completed construction and space refitted to accommodate this new growth. Please visit our "Faculty & Staff" tab for links to job announcements for three open faculty positions.
While our research and education focus will soon change, we have taken the liberty of summarizing some of our current projects and activities and have indexed them to this site. Please take a moment to review our Research and Education sections to learn more about what we are doing now.
Please feel to contact us via e-mail, phone, or just stop by to discuss our department, potential research collaborations, or interests you might have in learning more about biomedical/health informatics.
Thanks for visiting,
Ron Gimbel, PhD
Interim Chairman
