Brigade Commander
The USU Brigade Commander is recognized as the "senior active duty military officer" of the University. It is the responsibility of the Brigade Commander to ensure that the uniformed personnel assigned to the University adhere to the appropriate standards set by their parent service. In addition, the Brigade Commander makes certain that the interests of the military members assigned to the University are addressed in order for them to remain competitive for promotion with their service peers. Under the leadership of the Brigade Commander, the uniformed students, faculty, and staff assigned and reporting to the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing, Armed Forces Radiobiological Research Institute (AFRRI) or other University programs and divisions must participate in all activities and events as they would in any other command of the Uniformed Services. Regular formations are held; physical fitness exercises, standards, and testing are adhered to; performance evaluations are completed and rated; and, personnel are trained in the appropriate uniformed programs and customs.

Biography
Brigade Executive Officer
The Brigade Executive Officer serves alongside the Brigade Commander
as the officer who is second-in-command. He oversees the day to day operations
of the Brigade and ensures that the Commander's intent is met at all times.
The Executive Officer promotes the professional and personal growth of all
members of the Brigade to ensure competitiveness for promotion, future jobs,
and retention in the Uniformed Services. Responsibilities include ensuring
good order and discipline within the Brigade and ensuring that the military
training needs of each service are met.
Brigade Senior Enlisted Leader
The USU Brigade Senior Enlisted Leader is responsible for advising the Brigade Commander, faculty and staff on all matters concerning the morale, welfare, discipline, and professional development of enlisted personnel assigned to the University. A key member of the Executive Staff, he promotes communication and collaboration between enlisted, faculty and staff officers, civilians and contractors, as well as the student medical officers towards mission accomplishment. The Senior Enlisted Leader is the liaison between the University and the National Capital Area Senior Enlisted Leaders, administers the enlisted recognition program, and serves as a member of the Military Awards Panel.
