| RSS (really simple syndication) is a method for receiving via your browser automatic updates from specific Web pages without cluttering your inbox with e-mail messages. Such content is called a "feed" and it uses the Internet coding language known as XML (eXtensible Markup Language). Feeds can include update notices, lists of headlines, and sometimes content (e.g., the first sentence of a news item). Feed-capable AFRRI Web pages include the following: MEIR course schedule | Scientific journal articles | Seminars Feeds from other government agencies: Military Health System | White House | USA.gov | U.S. Government RSS library International Atomic Energy Agency | Department of Homeland Security Department of Veterans Affairs | Centers for Disease Control and Prevention |

| Each feed-capable Web page shows an orange icon () in its page-top status bar. To subscribe to a page's feed, click that icon and follow directions. |

| Viewing AFRRI pages via the Internet Explorer (IE) browser, the Feed icon is located between the browser's Home and Print icons, as shown below. | |

| The Web page that you are now reading does not have the Feed icon in its status bar because it has no feeds to which you can subscribe. These AFRRI pages are feed-capable: Seminars, MEIR course schedule, Science journal articles. Once feeds have been established via IE, each will show with its title next to a Feed icon (example below). To update the content of each feed, click the two green arrows to its right. |

| The Feed icon will appear next to the Bookmark icon (a 5-point star). Click the Feed icon and follow directions. | |

| Once feeds have been established via Firefox, a folder for each will show below the page's Web address (example below). Single-click each folder to view its feeds. To update the content of each feed, right-click on its folder and click Reload Live Bookmark. | |
